John Edwards' Crossing Over - Real or Fake?
Someone was talking to me recently about that John Edwards Show "Crossing Over".
Apparently there has been a lot of talk about whether or not it is a well conceived fake.
There have been all sorts of stories, but one that comes through a little more than most, is that being in a production studio with microphones and cameras etc, that while J.E. sits backstage, the audience are being listened to via the microphones, talking to each other about if they got a reading themselves, would so-and-so be brought up etc. This works together with the cameras to get the general area of where each person is seated, so that he can pick them out and use that information.

Also, I believe that $1,000,000 offerred by - I think it is the American Sceptics Society - still has not been claimed. That's the one where if you can prove your clairvoyant powers to them with I think about 80% accuracy or something, then you can claim the money.

So what do you reckon - real or fake?

I personally don't believe in this stuff......I'm a skeptic.:eyebrow:
The only way I'd know for sure would be to have a reading done for myself & to see what he had to say....:hmm:

i've seen a bit of htis guy since they started showing him on channel 10. He just seems too smooth to be really doing it, the way he talks it's like he's being fed the person's stuff through an earpiece or something. I dunno, sometimes you think how could he know that but then other things are just weird.:sigh:

I don't think he wears an earpiece. Some of the things he says people are quite shocked that he has brought up - so I don't think that the audience would be bugged - but I do wonder if the people he reads are stand ins.:hmm:

Well how about this for a thought - maybe it's a combination of the 2.
Maybe they listen to the audience and get the information right, but without too many shocks, and the ones who get the shocks are actually ring-ins putting on a great performance? :hmm:
T'would make sense......:hmm:

I'm not sure about this one either. I mean it could be real but then what are the chances of that really?:eyebrow:
I'd probably like to believe it, but I think maybe there is some sort of a setup involved.
Probably the only way to know would be if you went yourself and got a reading. Then maybe we'd know for sure.

Re: John Edwards' Crossing Over - Real or Fake?
Well after watching the show for over a year, on Arena, I can honestly say that I belive this guy is for real. Even my hubby that was a sceptic is now a believer. We have read his book, and we have tickets to his Sydney show in January, so I will give some feed back to this site if we get a reading.

I've been involved with a lot psychic circles, meditation and development groups. I've done courses on the Tarot, and read publicly for around a few years. And in my experience I have come to know that there are both good and bad in this game. I believe he is the genuine stuff!

Its OK to be sceptical, but please have an open mind...

It's comforting to think that our loved ones are "with us" in some way. I would hope he is genuine. What about James Van Praagh (sp?) his show "Beyond" is on now also. I like to watch Sylvia Browne when she appears on The Montel Williams Show. She cracks me up and she also says most of the other mediums are fake. So who do we believe?:sigh:

Re: John Edwards' Crossing Over - Real or Fake?
I believe 100% in Sylvia Browne to the point that I would pay to have a reading done by her if I had the $$$ to do it rather than go to some local reader who may only give you a fraction of what you want to know.
First off I want to say that I am a psychic in practice and I have been reading cards for years. I can honestly tell you that I dont trust most psychics myself because there are so many fakes out there taking people's money. It is hard to trust. I myself years ago blew $50 out the window to a fake. Heh. She told me for another $90 she could cleanse my black aura. Uhm unless you are dead then you dont have a black aura, doesnt exist. There are people I know that can take photos of your aura and not one person comes up with a black one. So she was full of bologne plus she couldnt answer my questions.lol.
Now, I will also tell you that I am not a fortune teller. The way I read only helps to counsel someone that already has this information deep inside with intuition and doesnt use it or doesnt know how to use it. I can read for myself but not as much as I can for others. That is why it is considered a gift. It helps others but doesnt help me much.
I consider myself a spiritual counselor more than anything. I have ghosts/spirits around me constantly. I have photos of them around me, my friends and family experience things around me, and people who use to doubt what I say have now turned around after having been around me when something went down. My mom for many years did not believe me until something happened to her in one house finally. Since then she has had many experiences as well as my 13 yr old sister, 4 yr old daughter and 3 yr old son. In fact in one of the photos I have with "orbs" in it he was looking right at one. Very creepy.
Now as far as reading messages from passed loved ones, it can very much be done. Yes cold reading is possible but you have to think too that even when they cold read, what made them guess at exactly something that hit home for a particular person. Maybe there is after all a message coming through yet the person delivering it doesnt realize that it is what it is.
John Edwards, I love this guy. The reason I believe in him is he is able to come up with specifics as well that no one would know but that person. And I am talking about certain jokes, the person's demeanor, a certain sentence that someone could not have just made up.
Anyone can cold read with things like jewelry, beginnings of names, etc but can they come up with specific phrases that the one passed over would say or how they would joke around or a joke that only the one who passed an the person the message is for would know. Even the family sitting next to them may have no idea about this secret but the person it is being delivered to knows exactly what it is.
I am not per say a skeptic but I am not 100% trusting either but I will say John Edwards is a good guy trying to help people deal with the grief of thier losses. Whether he cold reads or is sincere, he is helping people either way. For that he should be commended.
